Circle Games You guessed it! Adaptive or Special Needs Games A robust camp or youth program plans fun, popular games that are specially designed or adapted so children with varying abilities participate alongside their peers in group games. Large Group Games These large group games are perfect for periods when you have to lead games for more than one group, or have to take the lead very large groups by yourself.

Nature Games Summer camp provides a unique opportunity for children to experience the outdoors, and well… learn something! Other Camp Games Well, sometimes managing a large camp games and activity database can be confusing.

Parachute Games Parachute Games are a great outdoor games classic. Quick and Easy Games Do you have five minutes to fill before lunch or while waiting for a bus and want to make your group laugh? Rainy Day or Indoor Games It happens. Sports Oriented Games These games are competitive or skill based for the sporty minded campers, youth, or staff. Tag Games Tag games are a great tool for camp staff since you can play them quickly, without props or preparation.

Campers will be most likely to play a game if you are actively participating. Enjoy yourself and be part of the group, but be cautious not to play at skill levels above your campers that make the game unfair or dangerous. Facilitate equal playing action for all participants. Be very mindful of how many times a camper has ie received the frisbee, or been chosen as captain.

Quite often, less active campers are left on the sidelines while more athletic or outgoing children dominate the game. If you are playing any activity, find a way to keep activities moving and changing to give everyone equal quality playing time. This same principle applies to sports-minded children who may be uncomfortable playing dramatic games.

Half of the group are called foxes and the other half are named rabbits. Rabbits are standing behind a line at one end of the play area. Equipment: Sponge balls of various sizes A ball is thrown in to start the game. The teams each on their own side of line throw two or three balls, back and forth, trying to hit the opposite team. A basic tag game.

If children are tagged, they must stand with their legs apart stuck in the mud until someone crawls through and releases them. You have two or more taggers, and two youth with rubber chickens. The taggers run and tag children to freeze them. After a few minutes switch the taggers and the chickens. Make sure there are no trip hazards. They must find their friends, link arms, and then find the rest of their friends.

They will have a good time shuffling around and bumping into each other! Be sure an adult is present at all times. Players take turns leaning backward and shuffling under the rope. Lower the rope after each round. Be sure to play Limbo music! Have all players join hands in a circle.

The cat chases the mouse around and through the circle. Players help the mouse but not the cat. When Mouse is caught a new Cat and Mouse are chosen.

This one is a surefire winner! Divide the remaining players into teams of three members each. Each team will choose one of the three members to be a target. The target on each team will wear an identifying marker such as a piece of masking tape. Players continue to hold each others wrists during the entire game. Instead of using actual Hockey sticks, use foam noodles that are for swimming.

Instead of a puck, use a waffle ball. Tape or mark off the boundaries. Have a penalty box for the rule-breakers. You can make a time limit, or a goal limit. If you have many kids be sure to switch out players…. TIP: Do you remember your favorite game as a child?

OCTOPUS Play as with dodge ball or gaga ball , but instead of sitting out to the side— players sit down where they are tagged by the ball. The ships blindly navigate their way eyes closed their way about, attempting to reach the safety of the lighthouse. Divide group into two equal-sized teams and have them sit on the floor at opposite ends of the room. Place a goal at each end and the ball in the center of the room.

When given the signal for play to start, the children must crab walk to the ball and attempt to kick the ball toward their goal and score. Players must stay in the crab-walk position the entire game. Failure results in the opposing team getting a free kick. In Red Rover, the participants are split into two teams of equal size that form two lines opposite each other.

The members of each team will hold hands. The teams will alternate turns with the winner being the team that ends up with all of the players. Because all players will end up on the winning team, there are no losers in this game. They must give out commands to the crew the rest of the PE class. The Captain is limited to a set of commands, which you can alter if you have specific fitness objectives for the class to reach. You could use a mixture of fun commands and physically demanding ones, like:.

You could have the crew members stand at attention after completing each task, which will make the more competitive students attempt to beat each other. After a few minutes, change captains so a few children get a chance to be in command.

Running relay races are one of the simplest PE games needing no equipment. Take the class outside and divide them into groups of 3 or 4 people each. Have them run to metres each before moving on to the next person in the relay. The mix-it-up relay race is fun variation of a normal relay running race. In a mix-it-up race, each person in a relay team will perform a different action. The first person may have to skip, the second may have to run backwards, the third can run normally, and the fourth can hop.

This makes the race more exciting and enjoyable to watch. There are many fun variations of tag that are useful for PE classes.

The cops will pursue the robbers to tag them. Robbers who have not been tagged can release their team mates by sneaking into the jail and tagging them.

The game is complete when the cops have managed to round up all of the robbers. Playing this game in an outdoor area with plenty of places to hide can make it even more enjoyable. This activity is very challenging and a lot of fun. Split the group up into teams of two people that will stand on one side of the gymnasium.

Each team will have one person go into plank position while the other grabs them by the ankles. They will attempt to walk the wheelbarrow to the other side of the room.

Once there, they will touch the wall and switch roles before racing back. The first team back to the starting point wins. Duck Dusk Goose is a wonderful PE game for younger children. The rules are simple and they will get plenty of exercise.

Start by having the children sit in a circle facing the middle.
