If as I usually do I shut down after using my computer, Patrician works fine on the next startup. As I am having unrelated driver problems, I do shut down when I stop using the machine. None of the graphics modes work, except x, in the test sequence Patrician runs when first installed.

I have a working game though fustrating, as other games of similar age do still work and are kept up to date. Kalypso doesn't appear to want to put the effort in on this one it seems. If there was a move to write an updated version, I would be happy to contribute to that project.

Thank you Draconyx, for your suggestions, I have Patrician 3 set to Windows XP, the only difference is that the top menu screen comes up correctly, instead of on half the screen and with only partial and distorted colour. The reason I say that the test sequence Patrician runs fails on high resolutions, is that the image displayed is limited to the top left x pixels.

I have not found any descriptions of a similar problem from other users.
