I am currently useing Opera. This browser will import your favorites directly from Internet Exporler with ease. And I have found that to be inconvientent.
There must be a better way. Edit Open Opera Browser. Select 'Bookmarks'. Select 'Bookmark Manager'. Right click 'Trash'. Select 'Empty Trash'. Close 'Bookmarks'. Select 'File' Top left of screen. Select 'Import and export' from drop down menue. Select 'Export Opera bookmarks'. The 'Export Opera bookmarks' window appears. Browes to find folder in 'My Documents' and 'Save'. I have found that there are two files created when you export the bookmarks to 'My Documents'. One is an 'opera6. It seems that Opera automatically creates it own 'Opera6.
Right click the 'opera6. I have tried to open the saved 'opera6. But it will still load the bookmarks to Opera. If you lose your "Bookmarks': Edit: Load the backup CD. Select 'File'. Select 'Import and export'. Select 'Import Opera Bookmarks'.
The 'Seclect Opera bookmarks to import' window appears. Browse and select the 'D:' drive. Selecting the opera6.
If anyone has any feed back on this topic I would be pleased to hear about it. Reguards, Max. Yes the MSN borwser was a hangover from the aborted attempt by Microsoft to create it's own Internet style online service. Why they keep making it I have no idea. As far as browsers are concerned Firefox and Opera rule. Unfortunately we all have to keep IE as MS intergrated into the operating system. As a result the new installation had no bookmarks. So I grabed my backup CD and proceeded to import them as I described in the previous post.
And it worked. Sign up. Computer problem? Tech Support Guy is completely free -- paid for by advertisers and donations. Click here to join today! JavaScript is disabled. For a better experience, please enable JavaScript in your browser before proceeding.

Joined Sep 7, Messages I have Opera 6. Shouldn't they be HTML files? Thanks for your help, Rose-Marie. Joined Jun 20, Messages 1, You can delete the Opera6. If you're not comfortable doing that, you can use a program called JetLinks to grab them for easier import thru the Opera import feature. Now I downloaded Jetlinks, which looks promising. I opened the Jetlincks Application file, then clicked File, then clicked Import, then clicked "Bookmarks from Opera", whereupon I traced the path through the "Import an Opera Hotlist File" that had opened up, clicked "open"; it evidently did import the file - but I can't find it!
I was thinking of copying it onto a floppy and then copying that floppy onto my new computer - but where is it? Can you help?
Are you trying to do something other than transfer those bookmarks into the new Opera? You shouldn't have to open that file. After it's pasted into the Opera folder, just start Opera and the bookmarks should be there. I mail it from the old computer as an asttachment. In the new computer, if I left click on this attachment, it opens into source code. If I right click, it asks me what I want to do with it. But it doesn't let itself be dragged - I tried to drag it into Windows Explorer C: program files - opera , but the instant I attempted that, windows explorer closed.
I'm really quite desperate. Is there no way to get that source code file into a usable state? Rollin' Rog. Joined Dec 9, Messages 45,
